Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment

At Osteopathic & Regenerative Medicine we take the time to get to know you. In our supportive environment, we perform a comprehensive history and physical exam that helps us understand the physical, medical and emotional trauma in your body. We believe understanding what creates the cause of your illness or pain will help us create an individualized treatment plan. This allows us to teach you how you can help yourself in the healing process.

What to expect during osteopathic treatment

We encourage you to wear loose comfortable clothes that give Dr. Rampil access to do her hands-on treatment. Initially, Dr. Rampil will assess you by watching you walk and move. She will examine you in various positions to see and feel how your body functions. At times, she will maneuver you and at other times she will be listening to you your body with her hands. She may treat you standing, seated, or laying on a table. Some people fall asleep during treatments, others may talk or ask questions. It is most important that you are comfortable. Dr. Rampil can read your body but not your mind. It is important to share with the doctor if something is uncomfortable. Many times, she can shift her hands, so it is more agreeable. There are many different modes of treatment she can use, so if one type of treatment isn’t working for you, she can easily shift to another. Dr. Rampil integrates many various Osteopathic techniques and has developed her own approaches. Communication is key. However, spending at least part of the treatment in silence may give you a more restful experience.
